Our Programs

Moonbeams and Sweet Dreams

Serving families with children ages 0 to 5, our bedtime reading program strives to promote a consistent bedtime reading routine. Our program provides families with four brand-new books, a blanket, a routine sheet, and a brief workshop on the importance of reading together!

Growing Readers

Through the Growing Readers Program, REACH distributes books to local at-risk children and youth to develop their own home libraries. One of our longest running community partnerships is the Children’s Museum of Virginia in Portsmouth.

RAP Sessions (Read Aloud Program)

REACH RAP Sessions are conducted weekly, bi-monthly, or monthly. This program takes place at 11 shelters and 16 community initiatives across Coastal Virginia to help children build stronger academic futures. Since 2012, REACH Inc. has supported the literacy needs of over 6,000 new and returning children and distributed over 95,000 books valued at over $350,000.

Book BANK Distribution

REACH serves as a resource in the community to help establish give away libraries and other literary needs for our partner organizations.
