Christmas in July
BINGO! We will be working bingo at Bingo Palace in Virginia Beach to raise money for REACH Inc! Perfect for groups and organizations wanting to volunteer together— must be 14+
BINGO DAY: SUNDAY from 11:30AM-5:30PM Starting April 1st. Sessions are every Sunday, but you are not required to volunteer each Sunday. We do encourage volunteers to select specific weeks (example: every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month) to ensure coverage.
Help us run our FREE bookstore located in JANAF Shopping Yard in Norfolk! We need volunteers to greet and assist the families and children who visit. Please note that ALL volunteers will need to be 18+ (or 16+ with guardian permission), complete and pass a level 2 background check through Sterling Volunteers and sign a COVID-19 waiver. Volunteers will assist with REACH merchandise sales, as well as restocking small bookshelves with new books provided on-site.
We always have so many projects we need extra hands to assist with! From moving boxes of books, sorting donation, stickering resources, and various projects— there is a task for anyone! Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Volunteers ages 16 and 17 must have a parent or legal guardian on-site during the shift. These shifts are typically available Thursday’s and Friday’s between 11:00am to 5:00pm.
We are partnering with Norfolk Animal Control and Care for a special program that brings children, literacy, and adoptable pets together, and need volunteers to help make it a success. This event in On August 24th from 1:00pm-2:30pm
Christmas in July at the Big Free Bookstore (July 29th, Saturday, 10:30am-1:30pm)
"It might be hot summer outside, but do you hear jingle bells? Why it's Christmas in July at The Big Free Bookstore! Come visit us for winter-themed arts and crafts, photo ops, and Christmas Storytime! We'll have lots of new and used Christmas-themed books to get you into the spirit! So join us on July 29th, from 11 am to 1 pm, for a free family-friendly event! Yule be happy that you did! FREE & open to the public! Donations are being collected to support REACH, Inc. (Reading Enriches All Children) and The Big Free Bookstore. Interested in VOLUNTEERING for this event?
